Obama + Sword + Thundercats = Awesome

I don't like what he does, but this is cool. Probably is photoshopped, but who cares.

Action movie of the summer?

This looks very entertaining.

The film, which stars Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crewe, Steve Austin, Eric Roberts, Danny Trejo, and features cameos by Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, is expected to hit theaters August 13, 2010.

Compendium O' Links

I suppose it's time for another set of links:

First of all, found a cool blog called "Things you wouldn't know if we didn't blog incessantly" or TYWKIWDBI for short. Many of today's links come from them.

A lot of cool nature links:
-A Sun Pillar,
-A crab's eye view of a Ray
-Spot the caterpillar camoflauged in the photo. Very cool.
-A weird fly.
-A useless video, except to note that animals sometime have it right.
-Not sure if this counts as nature, but dog v. patrol car (from Leo)
-Finally a interesting story about an immortal animal.

A couple musical links:
-Probably the world's first cyber choir.
-Not sure if I linked to this before. Doesn't matter, could use another referral. Some film makers filmed "Stand by me" around the world, then spliced them together seamlessly.

Geeky, nerdy stuff:
-Venn Diagrams
-Talk about a techo geek
-Then vs. Now. Wow!
-For the geeky mother-to-be
-The A to Z of Awesomeness
-Best pizza place name evah!

Just plain cool
-Even if you haven't seen the goofy movie, this is pretty cool.
-I can carve a steak, does that count? But crayons, no, sorry.
-Look closely at these "paintings". If you don't see it, check out the hair.
-I laughed.
-Every stereotype ever! The best movie trailer!
-Man this is cool--a water powered jet pack.
-My colleague has this as his ringtone. Sorry, non-U.S. residents, this one's on hulu. Use a proxy server to watch.

That's all for now. Enjoy.

We're all in trouble!

got to hand it to those terrorists...they're a creative lot: Exploding breasts!

The British Intelligence Agency recently said the latest weapon of Al Qaeda is to use female suicide bombers with explosive breast implants, thus making it impossible to detect at security check-points.

[...]

The British Intelligence MI5 had stated that the Al Qaeda has a dedicated set of doctors to implant the explosives. They have been doing it with so much expertise that once the bomb is implanted it would be virtually impossible to detect.

Bollywood meets the Beatles?

I just discovered a new band today called Goldspot, via the excellent Indian, specifically ABCD, blog Sepia Mutiny

I'm really eager to see how they "brought sexy back to the harmonium."

It seems that they are on the verge of stardom: one of their songs was featured on an Apple IPad commercial.

Anyway, here are a couple samples, one from the above linked SM article, and one bonus. Enjoy:

The National Debuts New Song

One of my favorite bands debuts their new song on Jimmy Fallon. New Album on May 11!

Check out their back catalogue here. Especially Boxer, probably my favorite album of the last few years.

Representative? Hope not.

Apologies in advance for this dude's acting skills. Methinks he was going for the "act so stupid everyone will realize that this is not a serious character" schtick.
